At 12:00 PM, I began the AWD Swap - Sunday, December 10, 2006.
At 10:30PM, same day, the entire rear subframe was jacked into position, lined up, and ready to be welded in.

I am completing the rear subframe while the 1.5L engine is still in the car so I can move it around.  The next stage will most likely be replacing the current engine subframe mounts with “transfer case ready” subframe mounts.

When that is completed, I can drop in a motor and AWD transmission with no custom work (aside from driveshaft mounts)

I am video taping the entire progress along with measurements and instructions on building the custom mounts for this project.  Email me for details on the DVD I am making of this swap.

I welded the differential mounting bar to the frame rails in the trunk.  I fabricated the front subframe mounts and welded everything into place.
